An electric alternative
Electric car cooperative Ecotxe, based in Palma, Mallorca, is on a mission to replace carbon-emitting cars with Electric Vehicle (EV) alternatives.
To hire the EV’s customers use a simple mobile app to choose how long they want to rent them for. The award winning initiative’s fleet is powered by renewable energy.
Collaborating with a range of socially responsible groups, the not for profit gives people an eco-friendly car hire option.
Ecotxe director Alexander Durant is promoting EV car sharing in Palma with a view to expanding it to cover the rest of the island.
He said: “We are taking private cars off the streets and avoiding the emissions connected to them. We want to offer an alternative to the current mobility system that is sustainable and emission free.”
